Balance Sheet Management AccountantJD UK & IrelandReporting to:Balance Sheet and Controls Finance ManagerDepartment:FinanceLocation:JD Sports Fashion PLC, Edinburgh House, Hollinsbrook Way, Pilsworth, Bury, BL9 8RRKey Duties/Responsibilities:Responsible for producing balance sheet budgets and reforecastsEnsure balance sheet reconciliations are produced and reviewed in line with the Group requirementsChallenge and review reconciliations to ensure that the balance sheet position is appropriateUpdate risks and opportunities scheduleProduce month-end balance sheet reporting for Finance senior teamResponsible for reconciling control accounts (Payroll, VAT)Responsible for reconciling intercompany balances on a monthly basis, distributing balance details across group companies and resolving any queriesUpdate intercompany loan schedules and calculate interest chargesEnsure all reporting deadlines are metSubmit accurate and timely submissions to Group for JD IrelandProduce monthly, half-year and year-end Group reporting packs for JD IrelandAssist in providing reconciliations to external auditors and responding to queriesAd hoc project work as requiredSkills/Experience/Knowledge needed:Qualified/Finalist CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA accountantExperience of management accounting essentialExperience with working alongside and influencing senior stakeholders; both financial and non-financialStrong analytical skills required in order to identify and remediate risksAbility to investigate, understand and explain variances and overall business performanceStrong communication skills both written and verbal requiredAbility to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlinesAbility to work under your own initiativeProficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and PowerpointAttention to detail and accuracyRetail industry experience desirableExperience of Oracle Financials and TM1 useful (though training will be provided)A positive, flexible, enthusiastic and driven attitude.The Company:The JD Group is a leading omnichannel retailer of Sports Fashion, Street & Premium Fashion, Outdoors and Gyms with over 60,000 colleagues over 3,400 stores across several retail fascia's in over 30 markets around the world.We are an equal opportunities employer who embraces and values differences.
