Bad debt collection agent - French speaker (3 months, temporary)

Job Summary:EF English Live is seeking a motivated and results-oriented individual to join Customer Success team as a Collection Agent. In this role, you will be responsible for contacting customers and clients with outstanding debts and working with them to collect payments or establish suitable payment plans. Your goal will be to minimize bad debts and improve the company's cash flow while maintaining positive relationships with customers. The position requires working from 9 am – 18 pm, Monday to Friday Responsibilities:
Contact individuals and businesses with overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, or other appropriate communication channels.
Act professionally and courteously while discussing debts and payment options with customers.
Assess and evaluate the financial situation of debtors to determine the most suitable repayment plans.
Negotiate payment arrangements and set up automatic payment schedules if necessary.
Document all interactions, conversations, and agreements with debtors accurately and promptly.
Provide accurate and timely reports on collection activities and outcomes to management.
Follow applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to debt collection practices.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and disputes in a professional and empathetic manner.
Collaborate with internal departments such as customer service and sales teams to resolve outstanding debts and prevent future delinquencies.
Requirements:
Proven experience in debt collection, customer service, or a related field.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively negotiate and persuade.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Sound knowledge of debt collection laws, regulations, and best practices.
Familiarity with computer systems and software for managing customer data and generating reports.
Results-driven mindset with the ability to meet targets and deadlines.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
