V7 is used to power AI’s rollout at Fortune 500 organisations including Sony, Boston Scientific and Genentech.Take a tour of our new product you’d be working on here*: Engineers at V7 ensure that complex operations involving – think applying foundation models like Gemini Pro to enable complex analyses across large financial documents - are performed reliably and efficiently at scale. The Backend Engineer role holds significant influence, shaping the trajectory of the company's future in close collaboration with the Founders.Some of the responsibilities you will tackle are:Enable foundation models to be applied to multimodal data at scaleScale our platform to meet challenging multi tenant usage patternsMaintain a rich suite of APIs to power all our internal and B2B clientsShip to production multiple times a day, working in tandem with PMs/Designers to solve user problemsOur BE is in Elixir (Erlang) with Phoenix, and FE is Vue.js. Our deep learning framework of choice is Pytorch. We don't expect you to know Pytorch. If you don't know Elixir, that's ok, but you'll have to learn it. (some of our team members had no Elixir experienced when they started and had no problem learning it).Requirements:A Degree in Computer Science, or similar.4+ years experience as a Backend Engineer with strong architectural design skills.Experience with functional programming. Familiarity with Elixir is a plus, but other languages like Haskell, Clojure, Scala and F# are also great.Infrastructure management experience at scale; you should be comfortable in using AWS and terraform.Proficiency in queue management and observability.Experience with orchestration tools like Docker.Knowledge of GenAI and prompt engineering is a plus.You thrive most during the initial years of a company's inception, particularly relishing the dynamics of small team environments.Customer-centricity is paramount. Engineers are integral to every stage of the delivery process, necessitating a strong product focus.
