Azure Engineer - Infrastructure & Hosting
Remote/Blended Work Available - Salary c. £65k + Benefits
Our partner is looking for a skilled Azure Engineer to support the management and optimisation of their hosting and infrastructure services, based on Azure. An integral part of the DevOps team, you'll ensure the smooth operation of their Windows hosting infrastructure supporting .NET Core and Framework applications on IIS, alongside MS SQL Server. Ultimately, you will play a key role in increasing productivity through efficient management of their Azure-based environments.
Responsibilities
Maintaining and updating hosting environments on Windows Server VMs in Azure, ensuring regular patching and updates for enhanced security.
Performing audits of Azure Web Application Firewall (WAF) logs.
Implementing automated/testing processes to ensure optimal security.
Rolling out new features and managing maintenance tasks.
Setting up and deploying new Windows Servers to support our expanding infrastructure, including IIS, .NET, SQL Server and GitHub.
Maintaining and enhancing our existing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub) to streamline development and deployment workflows.
Providing customer support for DNS changes.
Assisting in the setup and deployment of new websites on CMS.
Responding to support tickets related to hosting and domain issues.
Ensuring high availability of server environments.
Monitoring the health of the server environment and delivering monthly reports on incidents, risks and insights.
Identifying and implementing automation and process improvements.
Skills
Proven experience managing hosting environments on Microsoft Azure, including Windows Server VMs. Proficiency in .NET applications, IIS, SQL Server and GitHub. Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with GitHub actions. Familiarity with Umbraco CMS and website setup and deployment processes. Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to handle support tickets effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to adapt to fast-paced and evolving environments. Availability for occasional out-of-hours work during major incidents or deployment.
The technical stack includes: Azure Windows Server VMs, Web Application Firewall (WAF), .NET, SQL Server, CI/CD, Umbraco CMS (desirable).
