Our client is seeking a high-level AWS Site Reliability Engineer to join their IT team in the heart of the Technology booming Manchester Media City. You will play a pivotal a role for this Consultancy's infrastructure. Working with tools such as AWS, Terraform, MySQL, and Kubernetes. Key Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot and resolve BAU incidents promptly to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
Collaborate with development teams to implement best practices for application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical consultation, and ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles with tools like Terraform.
Utilize AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and others to architect, deploy, and manage scalable solutions.
Guide and mentor a group of junior members of staff, offering technical direction, coaching, and assistance.
Participate in on-call rotation schedules to provide 24/7 support for production systems.
Continuously research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve system reliability, performance, and efficiency.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as an AWS Site Reliability Engineer or similar role, with experience overseeing junior engineers.
Strong proficiency in Python programming language for automation and scripting tasks.
In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud services and experience with managing AWS environments.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools such as Terraform.
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Certification in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) is a plus.
Salary: £60,000 - 75,000 DOE
