The role: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assurance Manager UK & Europe to join the team at British Airways. You will be responsible for security performance oversight for all UK & EU airports, including LHR, raising security standards, ensuring passenger/crew safety and protecting BA from potential reputational damage. What you’ll do:
You will be the compliance contact for UK CAA to respond appropriately to all non-compliance issues. Draft and respond to all deficiency notices within stipulated deadlines and monitor resolutions. Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a Quality Assurance Inspection (QAI) program Responsible for the proactive identification and implementation of security measures to ensure compliance with British Airways Aviation Security Program measures, and to promote a culture of continuous security improvement. Working with Worldwide Airports and LHR Management team and through routine visits and analysis, provide specialist security advice to ensure that all partners meet aviation security performance standards. Effectively support LHR management team to manage suppliers by providing guidance, advice, and assistance to enable security tasks to be carried out effectively. Responsible for building collaborative operational security partnerships between EU Member States Regulatory Authorities to collectively address security challenges and risks. Cultivate a quality assurance security culture by ensuring accurate and consistent implementation of BA policy. Conduct trend analysis of security events; identify key learnings and agree improvement plans with line Safety/Security teams. Provide expert operational security advice, and build close working relationships, with relevant line areas. Support IOSA Audits Support the AOS team as required. Model BA leadership behaviours.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
Strong relationship management skills, with ability to influence and quickly build instrumental relationships with stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with and present to a variety of stakeholders. Intuitive collaboration within immediate team and wider network. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Delivery focused with experience in planning and organisation. Demonstrates ability to prioritise to achieve positive outcomes. Strong organisational and decision-making skills managing multiple competing priorities, under pressure, operating independently or as part of a team. Ability to evaluate data and metrics to spot trends and opportunities. Resilience, commitment, drive and perseverance
Your experience:
Capable of holding a UK National Security Vetting (SC) Capable of obtaining a DfT AvSec Manager qualification. Capable of obtaining the Lead Auditor qualification.
Desirable
Experience of security and compliance Risk management. Experience and knowledge of operational security Proven leadership and relationship management experience. Management System experience.
