We have a new direct opportunity working within education, our client is search for an AV & Digital Media Technical Development Consultant who will be responsible for the development, design and delivery of all Audio-Visual systems across the business from requirement to delivery into business as usual. The work includes work in new buildings, refresh and refurbishment of existing space, including regular moves and changes to existing equipment, and often these works are in parallel with tight deadlines
As well as teaching and learning environments you will also be working with retail space, corporate office and meeting spaces, digital signage systems, video/audio recording studios, theatre spaces and informal spaces. This role works closely with the Events, Audio Visual (AV) and Digital Media (DM) Support Team (EAVDM) which is comprised of multi-skilled Technical Specialists who are responsible for providing the delivery, support and maintenance of Events, AV and Digital Media across the organisation.
SCOPE
To work with Solution Architect AV & Digital Media to co-ordinate the planning, design, development and implementation of the AV and Digital Media systems and services across the business; ensuring Alignment with the organisations Strategic Plan and priorities Demonstrable contemporary good practice and recognised standards with reasonable future proofing Suitability for the wide range and scale of business activities Coherence and integration of provision across the organisation Cost-effective use of resources and efficient operation Promotion and support of user good practice.
To provide specialist advice and practical contribution to the design, development and implementation of existing and new AV and digital media systems and services to support learning, teaching, research, business engagement, promotional and working environments.
To work collaboratively with colleagues in the Operations section on the implementation of new services, and with colleagues in the Support section on the operation and support of services, towards all services being designed for support.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Work closely with the Solutions Architect, AV and Digital Media, delivering AV solutions across the business, leading on projects to introduce and update AV systems and services, managing external contractors as required.
To co-ordinate the planning, design, development and implementation for AV and Digital Media systems and services across the organisation. (This work includes planning and scheduling, documentation, source code control, quality assurance, maintenance, error tracking and reporting, standards and guidelines, release, technical user support and new product research and development). To provide the technical advice and liaison for AV and digital media requirements on organisational development programmes including Estates new building and refurbishment projects and for special events, ensuring alignment and compliance with agreed policies and procedures
To provide specifications of requirements, assess, and evaluate developments, proposals and solutions related to AV and Digital Media and advise and assist the Chief Information and Digital Officer and Solution Architect AV & Digital Media with costing, procurement, supplier contract, resource management, and implementation arrangements.
Identify and work with relevant parties for the development requirements of technical support, event and digital media technology facilities, including specification and design of requirements, tendering and procurement processes, contract negotiation, project management, arrangements for external suppliers and contractors, resource planning and budget management.
Working with the Solution Architect AV & Digital Media, AV and Digital Media and Support Manager - Events AV & Digital Media to ensure smooth transition of new AV/IT and DM installations into everyday use and practice across the business for both those using and supporting the equipment. Including updating and creating related training and instructional material.
Act as a point of escalation for complex issues and their resolution and provide guidance and assistance to colleagues to enable their development.
To ensure effective liaison across the organsation with key staff, senior managers and project teams for effective alignment of developments and services with business requirements
To contribute to the agreement of priorities and resolution of any conflicts of interest, in consultation with senior managers.
To undertake hands-on practical implementation work in all relevant areas of expertise as required
Produce and review relevant technical drawings operational manuals, databases, training and instructional guides and processes, ensuring they are kept up to date. Collecting statistical, documentary and other records as appropriate.
To ensure budgetary control systems, financial, health and safety, business policies and procedures, and legal and regulatory requirements are followed.
Attend meetings and proactively promote and represent the service advocating LCS and the organisation as a whole.
Development of professional interests and knowledge and training updates should be undertaken as associated with the needs of the organisation and job description.
WORKING HOURS
You are required to work 37 hours per week. Your actual hours of duty will be as agreed with your manager. You will be required to be available to work evenings, weekends and occasional bank holidays, as may be reasonably necessary to maintain essential and professional services, to meet project deadlines, to support special events and to provide occasional back-up for other service areas.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of the office between Christmas and New Year
