FDM is a global business and technology consultancy with an opportunity for an Automation Engineer in Leeds to work for our client within the Public Sector.We are seeking an Automation Test Engineer to spearhead the development and implementation of an automation framework from the ground up, covering both Front End and Back End systems. This pivotal role involves conducting automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of software produced by our development team. Collaboration within cross-functional teams alongside software developers and project teams is essential, contributing to the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, automated tests, and reports on both functional and non-functional requirements in a dynamic agile environment.Responsibilities of the role:Define and create a robust automation test framework tailored to the systems and applications under considerationDevelop and execute automated test cases in alignment with specified requirements, focusing on risk mitigationCompile comprehensive bug reports and provide constructive feedback to software development teamsFormulate tests aimed at risk mitigationAnalyse, define and build an automation framework from scratchAdhere to project deadlines and departmental standardsCommunicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, conveying findings and insights clearlyFoster strong relationships with third-party suppliers, particularly in cases where testing spans multiple partiesKey requirements for the role:Experience with BDD Technology such as Behave or CucumberProficient in PythonDemonstrable experience in API testing.
