Authorised Person / LoTo Officer

Blue Water Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Authorised Person / LoTo Officer to work on a large Gas Turbine Power Plant in South Wales.

This project is due to start May 2024 for approximately 5 months.

You will be responsible for the safety aspects and the safe energy isolation throughout the commissioning phase.

Scope of works

• Thorough understanding of plant mechanical and electrical systems along with in-depth understanding and interpretation of P&IDs, electrical one line / multiline and other pertinent drawings


• Understands and executes the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis / Work Authorisation / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits.


• Receive, verify, and approve LOTO permits, as directed by the project PTW system.


• Maintain control of locks and permits (open and closed) with log and report daily.


• Ensures locks and tags are placed and removed from designated equipment and systems.


• Report to the Lead Process Mechanical / Electrical Engineers, the Commissioning Manager, and the Head of Commissioning where necessary.

Requirements

• At least 2-5 years working experience in EHS and lock-out/tag-out processes of large power stations with demonstrable experience in a role of similar relevance.


• HND/HNC in Mechanical/Process/Electrical engineering is preferred.


• Strong team spirit, working with an international team and other cultures.


• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills


• Excellent knowledge of MS Office
