We are currently partnering with an expanding accountancy organisation in Basingstoke, recruiting for an Audit and Accounts Trainee to join the Compliance team.

This is a full time, permanent position, with flexible and hybrid working options available.

This is a trainee position which includes full training and support. Whilst you will have a mixture of both audit and accounts work, the position will be primarily accounts focused.

Key Responsibilities:

Build productive working relationships within the organisation and with clients
Develop and apply technical knowledge through on-the-job training and formal qualifications
Use accounting software for accurate reporting to managers, partners, and clients
Produce profit and loss accounts and balance sheets
Prepare basic tax computations and returns, such as corporation tax
Prepare working papers, including bank and other reconciliations, and manual control accounts
Help prepare and finalise statutory accounts under your manager's supervision
Assist senior staff on audits, including checking bank reconciliations, attending stock takes, preparing profit and loss schedules, and auditing debtors and creditorsExperience/Skills Needed:

You must have either 3 A Levels (Grades A, B, B or above/equivalent), or you are a university graduate (or are graduating this year) and are on track for a 2:1 or above
GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 5 or above
Proven communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong IT skills, specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT packages very quickly
Exceptional attention to detail
A positive, confident, and proactive attitude
Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated
Willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies
Relevant work experience and/or experience would be great but not essentialCompany Benefits:
