Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.
PURPOSE
Due to growth we are currently hiring for three ATEX Inspectors for various regions across England. The purpose of this role will be to carry out hazardous area inspections, and follow up remedial works for various water industry sites. This role will be covering some Thames Water regions.
THE ROLE
Contracted to 40hrs per week Monday to Friday. Paid hourly, with overtime paid. Travel time is paid door to door.
Overtime during the weekends paid at inflated rate.
To be responsible for completing electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and Bridges Electrical Safety Rules and Essential Standards
Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation and regulations are adhered to
Ensure that all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project's quality plan and inspection and test plans
To follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and to be empowered to stop work should unsafe circumstances arise
To coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices
Promote and demonstrate the Bridges' values when dealing with peers, staff, customers and clients
Promote positive health and wellbeing amongst their peers
To act in a professional manner and be an ambassador for Bridges, supporting the business goals and maintaining the company's positive reputation
Requirements
Experience / Certificates:
ECS card / JIB Gold card
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
CompEx EX01-04
Experience within water, construction, or industrial industries
Good client engagement and communication skills
Able to manage own and others workload with minimal assistance from Project Managers in delivering safe profitable projects
CCNSG (or similar)
Fitness to work medical
Emergency first aid or First Aider
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
EUSR
PASMA / IPAF / Confined space
Experience of ATEX inspections & DSEAR regulations
City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 Test and Inspection qualified
Severn Trent Water LV SAP qualified
Industrial and/or panel wiring experience
