Applicants should demonstrate their personal dedication to safety in their application!Brief DescriptionTo develop process, tools and procedures to manage an effective assurance framework for the region / function to assure compliance with Network Rail standards, legislation, Network Rail's Safety and National Systems Capability.About the role (External)Key Accountabilities1. Maintain effective relationships with Network Rail corporate governance, risk and assurance teams and firmly embed Network Rail policies and processes.2. Design, implement and operate a regional / functional assurance governance and assurance framework that is aligned with Network Rail policies and processes.3. Manage and maintain all relevant local policies for governance and assurance and embed these across the region / function to support regional / functional alignment and compliance with Network Rail governance and assurance policies and processes.4. Identify opportunities for improvements in the control frameworks and implement appropriate solutions, owning and maintaining the associated continuous improvement activities for the region / function.5. Work with functions and teams to support the local application of assurance and governance frameworks.6. Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of recommendations received by the organisation, both audit and other assurance recommendations.7. Track that all actions arising from Network Rails assurance and governance management processes are appropriately implemented and support the risk champions in embedding risk management into decision making.8. Carry out investigations and formal audits into alleged cases of non-compliance with Network Rails agreed policies and procedures.9. Design and deliver training workshops to increase the regional / functional competency in governance, assurance and related matters.10. Identify and implement new legislative and other good practice guidance in the governance and assurance areas and manage the process to educate and inform the region / function teams through appropriate briefings.11.
