Within the UK we have a national Development & Strategic Advisory service line and as part of this an established and expanding Economic Development & Appraisal (EDA) team.Our focus is on the promotion of sustainable local economic growth and development and we combine core skills in property with wider economic development and place economics across all sectors. The team advises public and private sector clients nationally and we are market leaders in the development and appraisal of HM Treasury business cases and case making to inform public sector investment decisions. Our wider offer includes funding strategies, impact assessment, evaluation, project feasibility, sector based demand assessments, business/investment planning and economic growth and place based strategy. Job Description We are currently seeking to recruit an individual with a genuine passion for Economic Development to support this strategic growth opportunity. You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in Economic Development, ideally within a consultancy environment, but above all we are looking for a committed individual with a genuine interest in the field. An understanding of land and property schemes is required but an RICS qualification is not essential.We recognise the broad nature of Economic Development and are open-minded around your skills and qualifications. We would expect some form of economics or economic development background and above all we are looking for an individual with a passion and motivation to develop themselves and our business within this area.The role is up to and including Associate grade and you would be reporting directly into the Partner leading this area of work nationally with a team around you to support delivery. This is a national role and we are not being prescriptive regarding office base at this stage. We promote a flexible working model and would expect a balance of office and home working.We would envisage the following being part of this role:Identifying and capitalising on new Economic Development fee bearing opportunities and initiatives including in identified growth areas such asProject managing the delivery of commissions with direct client interface and managing your own client relationshipsSupporting to raise the external profile of our EDA offerSupporting the learning and development of more junior team colleaguesUndertaking technical economic analysis and modelling e.g. cost benefit appraisal, economic impact assessmentWorking within internal and external multi-disciplinary teamsDelivering high quality reports and presentation based outputs to clientsContributing to wider business initiatives and thought leadership agendas such as our Future Cities initiative.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market leading and diverse team, significantly progressing you career.
