Associate Specialist

IntroductionJoin the CAMHS team at Rhodes Wood Hospital as an Associate Specialist/Specialty Doctor anddeliver high-quality clinical service across an eating disorderservice under the direction of the responsible clinicians.In this role, youwill provide clinical assessment, review, and evaluation to young people under the care and treatment of the hospital ensuring that all treatment plans are fully adhered to. Working 37.5 hours a week, you will take a specific focus on physical health, food and fluids and risk management across the ward working closely with the Consultant, ward manager, and wider MDT.You will be working alongside Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists at Rhodes Wood Hospital, as well as the wider MDT of which they form an integral part. There is a regular multi-disciplinary team meeting daily and weekly so that care and treatment is adequately planned. The team has dedicated administrative support which is based within the hospital.There are great learning opportunities as you work with the full multidisciplinary team and can benefit from the active service user and staff forums at Rhodes Wood hospital.Our Specialty Doctor role also involves:
Clinical assessment, formulation, and treatment of young people with eating disorders CAMHSEnsuring an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours when on call.Seeking collateral history from other professionals and family.Completing discharge letters/reports/forms as required in a timely manner.Depending on your experience, providing reports for First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings under the supervision of the Consultant.Provide high quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant PsychiatristAssess referrals & undertake mental state examinations of service usersTo be successful as a Specialty Doctor, you’ll need:
Full GMC registrationExperience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teamsTo be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists (desirable)To have had an appraisal within the last yearAt least 3 years' experience in Psychiatry (desirable)Experience working as a doctor within similar environmentSection 12 (2) approval (desirable)What you will get
