PVC partners with global Investment Groups across a portfolio of c. 85 assets and works out of offices in Toronto, London, Hong Kong, San Francisco, New York and São Paulo. PVC consists of c. 40 experienced professionals with investment, consulting and corporate backgrounds, operating across the portfolio and throughout asset lifecycles.Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Portfolio Value Creation, your role will includeSupport respective investment group portfolio relationship leads on executing the asset review process for the relevant private investment portfolios (e.g. oil & gas, power and renewables, real estate, etc.)Utilize your experience and exposure to our asset base to identify and execute on value creation initiativesSupport due diligence of new investment opportunities and the transition of new assets into CPP Investments' portfolio (Day 1 transition, 100-day planning, governance setup, etc.)Have the willingness to execute on specific value creation initiativesYou will assist the portfolio relationship leads in reviewing investment performance, work with PVC colleagues on identifying value creation opportunities within the assets and liaise with investment teams to deliver on both mandates. Working across direct investment portfolios provides a unique opportunity to develop knowledge and expertise and transfer this to the benefit of the entire portfolio. To be effective in your role you will need to develop relationships across the PVC team as well as with investment teams across CPP Investments and support functions.As the ideal candidate, you are recognized for your high quality of work. You have built a track record of strong business judgement and ability to apply this across assets and asset classes. You are a proven independent executor who takes an enterprise perspective when evaluating opportunities. As a highly effective communicator you will build a relationship of trust with key internal partners and in turn, relevant external management teams; and inspire others across the PVC group and broader organization. You are a strong collaborator with demonstrated experience across levels, sectors and geographies and are viewed as an impactful team member. You also have an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for building businesses.You will:Take ownership of the asset review cycle including drafting investment asset review meeting agendas, reviewing materials and periodically reviewing performance of investment portfolio (actively recommending KPIs that are important)Actively participant in asset review discussions with investment teams and help identify specific asset management initiatives/plansAssist in the identification and implementation of value creation opportunities across the portfoliosSupport transition of new assets into CPP Investments’ portfolio (Day 1 transition, 100 day planning, governance setup, value creation plan development and vetting, etc) by identifying benchmarks, and providing rigorous project managementDrive the culture of the PVC team by living our Guiding PrinciplesQualificationsYou will bring:Related work experience in either Big 4 with sector specialism (working for transaction services), or financial planning and analysis / corporate development experience in relevant industries.
