Job DescriptionDepartment OverviewOur dedicated Building Surveying Team at RLB proactively manage and undertake surveys, formulate designs and specifications, administrate projects and programmes plus various other bespoke services to ensure our clients estate remains well maintained and achieves its full potential. We additionally provide extensive commercial services which include Dilapidations, Lease Advice and Pre-acquisition surveys. We pride ourselves on the quality of our service to our clients and enjoy long term relationships them.We are a sector focused business actively operating and investing in Commercial, Residential, Education, Sports, Nuclear and Retail clients and projects. Surveyors work in close contact with the client, advising them on legal and financial matters that arise during the project.Overview Of RoleThe newly appointed Associate/ Senior Associate will be responsible for the delivery and growth of all School and Academy works within the South East Region, which will be delivered from the London Office. This person will lead, manage and deliver the agreed annual and medium-term business plan for the service offerings associated to the strategic growth of the national team. Services will include building surveying, project management, mechanical and electrical consultancy, sustainability consultancy, health and safety and contract administration duties. Business development will be a key requirement and focus for the successful candidate.The role will also involve collaborating closely with the other Partners and Associates in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and York working as a cohesive team to drive and deliver new business.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in identification of individual key target clients and contacts, including individual turnover and contribution targets for incorporation within business plan.Attend monthly sector meetings to report on progress against business plan, identify business development activity for forthcoming month, discuss any resourcing requirements and to feedback results of previous month’s activity.Attend bi-weekly regional business development meetings to discuss strategy for this area and report on progress against business plan, identify business development activity discuss any resourcing requirements and to feedback results of previous month’s activity.Build customer relationships to ensure high standards of technical service, secure repeat business and develop profitable workload,Identify opportunities with existing clients to follow up, including cross selling Rider Levett Bucknall other services or regions.Attend client feedback meetings to obtain feedback from client in relation to Rider Levett Bucknall’s service delivery. Implement necessary action to ensure that feedback is acted upon.Become escalation point for service delivery for School and Academy Team in the North WestPrepare proposals and fee submissions.Lead on national/ local campaigns for the academies and school’s teams.Administer Quality Assurance system and ensure that team are complying with Intelligence. • Plan and undertake Quarterly Service reviews.Manage the production of cost analyses and benchmark information for team’s projects and ensure that these are regularly prepared and made available for others to access.Take line management responsibility for a team of staff, including conducting development reviews, pay reviews, performance issues etc.Identify resource requirements and training needs in the team.Keep Fee Forecast spread sheet updated monthly with Wins, Opportunities and Leads.RequirementsExperience working in a similar role within Schools and Academies sectorBuilding Surveying degree or similarTeam management and Business Development experienceIdeally MRICS chartered or similarFees management experience At RLB, our aim is to create and enhance an inclusive workplace culture where diversity is not only accepted but valued and built into our company culture, creating opportunity for all.
