This is a fantastic opportunity to come and work for an award-winning company who put people at the very heart of everything they do.About the roleIt is an opportunity for an Associate Legal Counsel to join the team, supporting our general commercial work, including IT/IP contracts across our estate. The role will provide legal support and advice to our retail business, Vets and wider Head Office colleagues, providing key support to internal stakeholders and will work closely with the other members of the legal team.As Associate Legal Counsel, your key responsibilities will include:Supporting with legal advice across all aspects of the Group’s retail business.Drafting and advising on a variety of commercial and supplier agreements, including IT contracts.Providing advice on advertising, promotions and marketing, including TV and other media campaigns.Advising on marketing terms and conditions.Providing the business with advice and support on issues relating to brand and reputation.Drafting, reviewing and evaluating internal policies and legal documents as may be necessary.Organising, updating and delivering legal/compliance training for colleagues.About you:To be successful in this role, you will need:A degree in law (UK qualification preferred) with ideally 3-4+ years PQE in a law firm or in-house.Experience/knowledge of providing general commercial advice.Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial/supplier agreements and some expereince within IT contracts.Good communication skills and good command of spoken and written English.Problem solving and analytical skills.Attention to detail with a commercially pragmatic attitude.Motivated and able to work independently, while respecting reporting procedures.Drafts legal documents/summaries/emails in a concise and thorough manner and in plain language.Responds efficiently to routine legal questions or issues.The ability to identify and analyse core legal issues.Stays on top of regulatory changes and key case law.Possess a proactive ‘can do’ attitude.Be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently within a remote working environment.Proficiency in MS Office and a good command of IT skills.In addition to a competitive salary, we also offer a comprehensive employee benefit offeringNB: Please enclose your line manager endorsement as a cover letter.
