Associate Director of NursingNHS AfC: Band 8dJob overviewWe are looking for a very senior nurse to join our new and restructured team. You will be a part of a supportive senior leadership team and have a key role delivering the priorities of the ICB and the Office of the Chief Nurse.Working both strategically and operationally , you will directly manage teams that deliver the functions within the office of the Chief Nurse. Specifically, you will provide senior professional leadership to specialist teams supporting individuals with highly complex needs requiring an individually funded package of care to meet their needs. This will include, NHS All Age Continuing Health Care (NHS CHC), all age mental health, learning disability and autism, S117 and S3 funded care. Our aim is to commission high quality, safe and personalised care; ensuring the team have the key capabilities and capacity to deliver improved outcomes for our population in line with the statutory responsibilities and frameworks.Main duties of the jobThe Chief Nursing Office Directorate supports the delivery of care to all age individuals with highly complex needsThe Associate Director of Nursing is accountable for leading a multi professional team to achieve high quality, safe and personalised care; ensuring the team have the key capabilities and capacity to deliver improved outcomes for our population in line with the statutory responsibilities and frameworks. The post holder will work both strategically and operationally as required such as contributing to the creation of and delivery of the ICS Operating Framework, Joint Forward Plan, Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, NHS Long Term Workforce Plan. Key to this is the development and delivery of integrated commissioning strategies through the development and maintenance of effective system partnerships. These relationships will be built on integrity and trust to enable integrated system working and providing best use of shared resources. The postholder will have a key role in leading efficient and effective business processes as well as demonstrating expert technical and analytical capability to deliver key quality, performance and financial indicators, working in a matrix way with other teams across the ICB. The postholder will participate in the ICBs On Call rota as required and will undertake any other duties requested as appropriate to the role.Develop and communicate the vision for the role of innovation, and the development of strategy and operational policies to support this vision and engage with key strategic regional and national policy makers to inform development of strategy and policies.The postholder will be responsible for ensuring that there are robust and collaboratively developed and delivered local policies and protocols based on best practice and evidence to provide a responsive and timely equity of access and robust decision making.
