NPosition Type Management Under the guidance of the Director of Meetings & Special Events, the Associate Director of Meetings and Special Events is responsible for the operational management of the Meetings & Special Events department. Leads, implements and maintains a management philosophy in alignment with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company standards. Participates in developing and implementation of department strategies that deliver products and services to meet and exceed the needs of The Ritz-Carlton guests and employees. The position assists the DOMSE in achieving profitability, event planner and employee satisfaction and the financial performance of the MSE department. The ADMSE will plan, manage, and execute large, complex group programs and key accounts for the Hotel Company. The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Meetings & Special Events. CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) and/or CSEP (Certified Special Event Professional) Certification preferred 3-4 years luxury experience as a Catering/Conference Services Manager or Associate Director required Strong analytical skills to develop and review reports (including Revenue Management) and determine other opportunities and ways to increase business levels. Experience in catering preferably in a Five-Star/Five-Diamond hotel or resort Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations and in particular menu development / various food service styles (i.e., French service, Russian service, tableside flambé service, butler style service). Creative or innovative thoughts and delivery of guest experience a plus Advanced knowledge of cost controls, budgets, forecasting, and profit and loss statements. Experience and ability to teach AAA 5 Diamond and Mobile 5 star standards. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate individuals, creating and maintaining a cohesive team. Must be able to manage a multi-generational and diverse team to instill inclusion and teamwork Actively pursues learning and self-development to enhance personal, professional and business growth; shares learning; demonstrates depth of knowledge in technical or specialized area. Proactively identifies and develops talent within the organization. Proactively ensures that others have the accountability, authority and resources necessary to both manage work execution and drive for results. Strong relationship and communication skills with the owner, guests, management and employees Previous experience with meeting planners / incentive houses Excellent reading, written and verbal communication skills in English.
