The role
We are recruiting for an associate director to join us in a key position within our Financial Lines team.
Responsibilities
To be responsible for building and driving a D&O / Management Liability loss adjusting function for all claims across CTA.
This will involve:
Developing the existing D&O business for current clients and identify and bring in new business, in conjunction with the key adjusters/leadership, and to build new relationships and networks both internally and externally
You will identify any key Business Development (“BD”) and marketing opportunities in the D&O area and with support, manage these to successful conclusion
You will travel as necessary to manage allocated claims, attend to client issues and undertake marketing and BD activities in key locations with key stakeholders
You will help to lead and develop the London market and international D&O footprint and brand profile
You will support the near term and long-term D&O strategic development plan in conjunction with the Financial Lines team, MD and Exec team
You will also assist in the investigation and loss adjustment of other claims handled within the Financial Lines team, to include but not be limited to BBB, Financial Institutions, Commercial Crime and FIPI.
Receiving and acknowledging new claims
Managing and coordinating claims in a timely and professional fashion
Undertaking site visits and meeting with Insurers, Reinsurers, Brokers, Claimants, Insureds and other interested parties in the UK and worldwide when required
Preparing preliminary reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim including legal and policy liability considerations, potential quantum and future actions
Instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other experts as necessary
Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communications
Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims and preparing accurate final reports
Where required, to assist in the training, development and mentoring of other members of the team and clients

Ad Hoc Duties
Your key accountabilities will include such other duties and tasks are as allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.
Person Specification
Experience of working either as a lawyer or claims adjuster within the D&O/ Management Liability claims arena
Prior exposure to Financial Institutions, Commercial Crime, Professional Indemnity claims will be beneficial
Be accustomed to writing comprehensive reports for stakeholders on claims being handed
Have the appetite to develop your skills as a loss adjuster
Experienced with managing senior stakeholders and complex claims
