This position is for an Associate Director with experience in delivering and managing large complex Central Government projects. You will work closely with the central Government leadership team in delivery a series of projects from various Government departments including the MOJ, MOD and Home office. You will beresponsible for leading the whole design team on project delivery, through all stages of a project, to ensure a high-quality service and the best design and technical solution is achieved for the client.

Key objectives
Focused on both Management 40% and project delivery 60% split of time.
Assist and deputise for the directors when required.
Be client focused and carry out business development and bidding for new work and participate in the bid interview process to help develop continued client relationships and future new work.
Support and advise all members of the architectural team with both project and pastoral care.
Be involved in architectural and companywide forums and groups.
Take an active role in the delivery of the company vision and the disciplines business plan and initiatives.
Principal responsibilities and accountabilities
Support the Directors to provide strong leadership to manage and direct allocated teams and ensure work is carried out to the required standard, quality and efficiency, that it meets governance requirements to achieve and exceed business forecast targets. Oversee and co-ordinate activities to ensure that workload is properly managed across teams to achieve or exceed utilisation targets.
Leading and delivering a variety of projects, from small to large, in different sectors, through all stages of a project. The role will sometimes include being part of a large team on major projects.
Working alongside the project director and take ownership to produce, manage and control the project brief, fees, costs, programme and deliverables.
Leading the design, detailing, specification and coordination of projects from inception to completion.
Communicating with clients and all members of the project team at all times.
Organise and chair all necessary meetings and project reviews
Working in a multi discipline environment and managing the project team.
Fully support and manage the architectural teams assigned to your projects.
Ensuring the team understand and comply with all relevant legislation related to the project.
About You
As the Associate Director for Architecture, you willforward-thinking, commercially aware, and driven to enhancing your own and Pick Everard's successes.
This role will suit an experienced Principal or Associate, looking to make their next career move. Alternatively, an Associate Directorlooking for a new opportunity.
Qualifications:
Qualified Architect or Technologist.
Minimum 8 years post qualification experience.
A full UK driving license.
Skills and competencies:
Experienced in delivering large complexed central government projects.
Passionate about design.
Experienced at developing future business opportunities through business development and bidding.
Excellent leadership characteristics and people skills – ability to effectively communicate, understand and empathise with everyone you interact with.
Honest and reliable with high levels of integrity and respect.
Experienced at leading large complex projects.
Experienced across a number of sectors.
Experienced at all design stages.
Excellent understanding of sustainable design solutions.
Excellent technical detailing knowledge.
Excellent specification and materials knowledge.
Excellent contract administration knowledge.
Excellent knowledge of current technical standards and regulations .
Excellent at multitasking and working to tight deadlines.
Excellent clarity and confidence in communication; writing, drawing, on screen and in person. Including client facing skills, combined with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Excellent self-motivation, friendly, efficient and enthusiastic attitude.
Proficient at expressing your design ideas through hand drawings or rough sketching.
Fluency in Microsoft office.
