An exciting opportunity has become available within the Digital Services Department for an inspirational, driven and motivated Associate Chief Nursing Information Officer. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a diverse range of services as they set their strategic priorities against the backdrop of the recent merger. The candidate will be required to work with colleagues across the Trust and with external partners to ensure the delivery of operational and strategic priorities. The role will support the Trusts commitment to delivering high quality, safe and effective clinical leadership across digital systems and programmes to assist clinical staff in the delivery of patient care, and for the advancement of clinical quality and safety initiatives using digital and data. The Associate Chief Nursing Information Officer works with the Chief Clinical Information Officer, Chief Nursing Information Officer, the other Associate CCIOs, and Chief Information Officer, as well as the digital and executive leadership team, to develop define, agree and implement key digital products, services and capabilities that enable the digitisation and integration of health and care data and workflows. The post holder will work closely with the Somerset TogethEHR Program Director, advising and leading on nursing elements of the program. The post holder will build strong relationships and fosters consensus at all levels of the organisation, both corporately, clinically and throughout the wider health system, to assure the achievement of objectives with obvious need to work collaboratively. The post holder will directly design and manage the nursing program of work within the unified EHR program - advising, designing and leading the development of nursing specific pathways in the new digital unified environment. The post holder will ensure that any digital changes made are safe and do not impact safe delivery of care, liaising with the clinical safety team at all stages of the configuration. Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience. Evidence of ongoing professional development. Current active registration with Professional Body.
Knowledge Essential criteria
Demonstrated operational management expertise in health and care environments with an understanding of whole system architecture.
Significant knowledge and experience of national policy development and implementation in relation to healthcare or digital health, technology and data.
Understanding of the NHS Information Governance framework, GDPR and Caldicott requirements, and general awareness of Security and Confidentiality issues Experience Essential criteria
Experience of delivering and leading care.
Experience of delivering improved patient outcomes and staff experience.
Experience of ensuring that patients, staff and the public are engaged as an integral part of digital transformation programmes and that safety and experience are considered at every stage.
Experience of championing diversity and inclusion and promoting actions to make improvements. Skills Essential criteria
An understanding of managing, mitigating and communicating any clinical strategic and operational risks. An ability to produce complex, sensitive and contentious information, including presenting information and writing high standard briefings to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in formal and senior settings. An ability to analyse highly complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources. Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making. Ability to make decisions autonomously, when required, on difficult issues.

Current active registration with Professional Body Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. Evidence of continued professional development

NHS Digital Academy or equivalent NHS Leadership Educated to master's degree level or equivalent experience Membership of the Faculty of Clinical informatics
