DescriptionThis role is a key position within the finance team of GB, based in Central London. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the timely and accurate management of accounts payable and completion of all associated tasks and processes. The role also includes a variety of month end tasks and, as such, the Associate, Accounts payable will be expected to proactively support the finance team in driving forward improvements in the monthly reporting processes and grow into new tasks.Areas of responsibilities including but not limited to the below:Accounts payable - posting of invoices and ensuring payments are made on a timely basis and in line with company payment approval policy.Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.Manage supplier queries.Ensure invoices are compliant for VAT purposes for all global entities.Pro-active input into improving the efficiency of the Accounts payable role.Maintain AP and AR ledgers, including - keeping the ledgers tidy, reconciled to the general ledger and reviewing aged items.Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.Assisting with other ad-hoc tasks e.g. assisting finance colleagues when required, provision of financial support to the deal teams, ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision making.Opportunity to be involved in other monthly tasks including fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, intercompany invoicing, deal costs, expenses approval, VAT returns and revaluations.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Accounts payable experience - managing invoices at a high volume.International experience (EMEA and APAC regions are advantageous)IT literate with the ability to manage data and reporting via Excel (Intermediate/ advanced Excel essential, NetSuite experience an advantage but not essential).Organised and motivated, self-starter with the ability to take responsibility for all day-to-day and monthly tasks associated with maintaining primary ledgers and the preparation of management accounts.Excellent communicator that can inspire confidence and is able to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels; finance team, directors, other staff, external suppliers etc.Work across multiple projects to meet deadlines through a strong work ethic, being efficient and flexible, while managing your time effectively. Detail conscious, focused on delivering accurate results and able to 'self-check' all work before review.Excellent analytical, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.A strong desire to continually develop themselves and others.An open, curious mind which can help us to enhance the way we work and bring creative solutions to clients problems.Education & Experience:1-3 years' experience within a finance/accountancy function.Proven academic record - preferably to degree level in a relevant degree subject (accounting, finance, economics or similar etc.) and/or AAT qualification or equivalent.Fluency in German would be highly advantageous but not essential to the role.About Gordon Brothers:Since 1903, Gordon Brothers has helped lenders, operating companies, advisors, and investors move forward through change.
