We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Tax Accountant to join the Tax team within the Finance Services division.The Tax team are responsible for managing tax risk and provide professional and technical advice for the University, its subsidiaries, and associated companies. You will join a small team reporting to the Tax Accountant, also supporting the Head of Tax to deliver this vital service to the organisation.This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the Employment Status Officer role for the University. Coordinating this process, you will act as first point of contact for employment status determination and any related queries. You will liaise with Schools and departments to keep them updated on this process and provide advice and guidance on the most appropriate options to engage self-employed individuals and intermediary companies in line with IR35 legislation.As well as this key responsibility you will also undertake a combination of varied routine and more complex Tax related tasks.This is an opportunity to join a top-ranked UK research university, offering a hybrid work environment, competitive pay, and flexible working arrangements.
