Do you want to be a part of the team that’s changing the face of news in the UK?The early PrimeTime team at GB News is looking for a motivated Assistant Senior Producer who is passionate about creating informative and engaging news programmes that connect with UK audiences. As an assistant senior Producer on early Prime Time shows, no day is the same. You could be driving the news agenda for Dewbs & Co, discussing stories to cover with panelists on Mark Dolan Tonight or booking a studio guest for our live audience show Free Speech Nation.What’s guaranteed is that you will play an integral role in our 7-day output, ensuring we cover a range of stories that are of interest to UK viewers, including politics, economics, crime, health and cost-of-living.You will have strong editorial judgement, bring creative flair to your work and be able to work well under the pressures of the newsroom. You will take ownership of a story/stories each day and ensure we are comprehensively telling them through a mix of production techniques. If you are driven and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the role for you.RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and produce high
quality and creative, original daily news programmes. Produce stories by writing
scripts, checking facts, cutting video and commissioning graphics. Ensure powerful coverage of
breaking and developing news, live events and big stories. Book compelling guests who
represent a variety of views. Work collaboratively with
colleagues to cover the day’s news agenda. Ensure coverage adheres to the
overall vision of the channel in line with our editorial standards. Apply Ofcom guidelines and
adhere to editorial charter throughout. REQUIREMENTS: Experience of live broadcast
journalism, breaking and developing news; with appropriate production
experience. Strong journalistic skills
backed up by a relevant qualification and news experience. Work well under pressure in a
newsroom environment. Good knowledge of news and
current affairs. Understanding of OFCOM
guidelines and excellent editorial judgement. Ability to work flexibly across
different news show shifts - including some weekends. High standard of written
English. Eligible to work in the UK.
