Assistant Scientific Officer

The post holders will be responsible for the analysis of samples of animal origin for the presence of veterinary drug residues/contaminants.The post holder will be required to perform sample extraction, clean up then analysis using a range of assays e.g. immuno chemical assays or mass spectrometry-based assays. In addition, the role will involve a number of duties related to the maintenance of ISO/IEC17025 accreditation within the laboratory and other general duties
Specific Experience / Qualifications required
The role will require a person with at least GCE ‘A’ level passes (A to E) or equivalent, in 2 separate subjects one of which must be biology or chemistry and GCSE/GCE ‘O’ level grades A, B or C in English and Math’s.
In addition, preference will be given to a person with laboratory experience gained either in a working environmentor as part of higher education.
