If you are an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is looking for a new role in the North West this is a great opportunity to join a leading and established Main Contractor who are looking for a driven and passionate individual to join their team.
The company have been established for over 100 years and specialise in a variety of sectors including the commercial, education, health, industrial, residential and leisure sectors with project ranging in value from �5m - �50m.
Due to their continued success and a healthy pipeline of work they are now looking for an Assistant QS to join their team in Preston, working on projects across Greater Manchester & Lancashire.
The role - Assistant QS
As an Assistant QS you will be working on a large �17.4m educational project in Lancashire and will be reporting into the Senior QS.
You will be a key part of the team and you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support the commercial team.
  • Prepare variations/valuations.
  • Prepare s/c valuations.
  • Attend site client meetings.
  • Liaise with Site Management.
  • Maintaining site records, control documents.
  • Measuring progress on site.
  • Consider risk & opportunity.
  • Assist with CVR's as required for larger value works.
  • Produce for small value projects and report to SQS/MQS.
  • Timely application/invoices in line with client schedule.
  • Understand & assist in the implementation of the commercial strategy.
  • Involved with & take some responsibility on traditional contracts.


Required Experience

  • Completed or currently undertaking a qualification in Quantity Surveying (HND/HNC Upwards).
  • Ability to effectively utilise a range of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Able to manipulate, manage/interrogate data.
  • Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement.
