Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Job Description
I am currently working with an award-winning developer who are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in South West London they have delivered successful developments across London. Its developments are characterised by bespoke design and exceptional quality and are built to unlock value, enhance the local environment, and respect local communities.
This position is a permanent role working full-time hours.
Main responsibilities
· Assisting the QS/Senior QS with commercial administration and management on several live projects or projects during the pre-construction phase
· Assisting with Sub-contract procurement and commercial management
· Ensure the timely receipt of quotations for materials, equipment and Sub-subcontract works, undertake commercial assessment of quotes received and ensure the timely placement of orders on commercially advantageous terms to facilitate project delivery and ensure business objectives are met.
· Assisting with management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts
· Supporting the QS in the management of day-to-day cost control, monitoring and reporting
· Monitoring progress in submitting valuations, final accounts and retention release and receipt of payment in a timely manner.
· Assisting the QS/Senior QS with subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate order and information prior to carrying out any work on site.
· Preparing relevant and accurate data for cost reports
Requirements
· Commercial or AQS experience
· Commercial Qualifications
· Commercial Awareness
