Summary of Position
A Professor of Practice (non-tenure track) full-time position in the Physical Education Program.Responsibilities include:
a. Expertise to teach the following courses (as needed) in the Physical Education Program:
i. PE 3020: IS I: Elementary Physical Education – 3 credits
ii. PE 3050: IS I: Elementary Physical Education Lab – 1 credit (Early Field Experience teaching in public schools k-6)
iii.
PEHE
#####: Curriculum Design in PE and HE – 2 credits
iv. PE#####0: Elementary Activities, Rhythms, and Gymnastics – 3 credits
b. Teach other PE Professional Physical Activity Courses (required in major) as needed, such as (examples only):
i. P#####50: Striking and Fielding/Territorial Activities – 3 credits
c. Advise students in Physical Education – All Options
d. Teach courses as needed in Exercise and Sport Physiology, Allied Health Sciences, Health Education, Public Health, and/or
HHP
courses (cross-discipline) based on experience and expertise.
e. Supervise Physical Education Student Teaching InternsAdditional possible responsibilities: Knowledge in educational technology for Physical Education, including, but not limited to: iPads and associated Apps; Swivl technology;
IHT
Spirit Heart Rate Monitors; pedometers; etc.Ability to train PE faculty and students in the use and application of these different technologies; applications; and software.Other responsibilities as assigned.
