Project DetailsA fantastic Assistant Procurement Manager job based in Newcastle offering the opportunity to work with a team of talented procurement professionals to deliver excellent strategic procurement and contract advice.This procurement job includes the opportunity to provide a full procurement service from the beginning of projects to the end with one of your employers most important clients.There will be opportunities for international and national travel to help and manage commissions. Hybrid working is available, although the client dictates the working model.
Responsibilities and DutiesProvide clients with procurement advice on important projectsProvide specialist advise to clients in all sectors about procurement strategyTo manage procurement services from start to finish on large scale construction related projectsTo support development of the company’s servicesTo provide procurement support to ensure goals are achieved at a team levelTo support proposal documents and bid preparation work
Desired Skills and ExperienceMust be able to develop key strategy/documentation that work well with public procurement regulationMust have supply chain expertise in the construction industry or a related sectorMust have experience with varying types of construction contracts but mainly NECRail experience with a link to procurement capacity whether direct or indirect is desirableMust have experience in tender preparation, evaluation and managementMust have experience using e-procurement softwareIdeally have experience in major construction projectsConfident and able to work independentlyAble to manage work/business/career development activitiesPossessing excellent communication, adaptability and a determination for success
Qualifications/Educational RequirementsA degree relating to quantity surveying, law or procurement is preferredMember of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) preferred
