Leadership Group Spine point £59,826 - £65,629 per annum (L8-12) The School is an Outstanding special school based in Kingston which provides innovative education and a supportive environment for pupils aged 2 to 19. The school provides places for 130 pupils with a wide range of physical disabilities including those with profound and multiple learning difficulties, moderate learning difficulties and complex health needs. The school benefits from specialist facilities including an accessible swimming pool, adapted outdoor play areas and an outdoor learning environment. It is within walking distance of the vibrant town centre of Kingston upon Thames and has excellent transport links. The school are seeking an Assistant Headteacher to join an established Senior Leadership Team. The Role In addition to the conditions of employment and the professional duties of Assistant Principal in the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document 2010, the above post includes the
following responsibilities: Shared Responsibilities with Principal and Vice Principal * To create, develop and maintain a high-quality educational environment for pupils with * severe and profound learning disabilities, including physical difficulties, * To ensure the continued development of the school and make a significant contribution * to high quality organisation, leadership and management, working in conjunction with * the Principal, Governors and Senior Management Team. * Accept the collective responsibility of the SLT and respect its confidentiality when this * is agreed to be necessary. * To ensure that all responsibilities are discharged within allocated funding and budget * constraints. Specific Responsibilities * Attendance at weekly SLT meetings to discuss learning and teaching throughout the * school. * Ensure that the 'Enhanced Curriculum' provision consistently provides high quality * Learning opportunities and care for those pupils participating Skills & Experience * Is a qualified teacher. * Has evidence of successful teaching and leadership in an SEN environment. * Is highly motivated and enthusiastic and has the ability to inspire and develop pupils to achieve their full potential. * Has excellent classroom management skills.
