Avonbourne Boys' and Girls' Academies are two 11-16 secondary schools based in East Bournemouth where students share a campus and are taught in predominantly single sex classes. When students reach our onsite United Sixth Form, mixed classes are reinstated. May 2024Avonbourne Academies have gone through a remarkable transition since joining United Learning in the summer o#####19. This Academic Year Avonbourne Boys’ was awarded ‘Outstanding’ in our Ofsted inspection! Our student numbers are increasing every year and as a result of this, we need to recruit more talented teachers to provide the outstanding education we have on offer.With this year’s examinations the first to return to pre-pandemic arrangements, the results for both academies confirm the significant improvements achieved in the last few years – having transformed sin#####019 levels.At Avonbourne Boys’ Academy, over three quarters (77%) of students achieved at least a grade four in both English and maths, with 60% achieving grade 5 or above in the two core subjects.Avonbourne Girls’ Academy saw equally successful results across the board. In both English and maths, 76% of students achieved grade four or above, while 57% achieved grade 5 or above.For the highest grades, both academies had strong achievement rates in both English and maths – with 20% and 19% at the Boys’ and Girls’ Academies respectively awarded either a grade 7 or higher.The academies are part of United Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.
