You will also provide assistance to Directors/Partners in both client work and in the management of the group. You will be involved in special assignments and advisory projects on an ad hoc basis.A key part of the role requires the individual to actively seek, and keep the Partner informed about any new business opportunities arising at existing and new clients.As Assistant Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:Undertake “ad-hoc” consultancy workManage portfolio of complex cases, both advisory and complianceGive exceptional client service and be responsible for maintaining regular contact with client teamNeed to keep up to date technicallyBudgeting and monitoring compliance feesStaff Management and DevelopmentLiaison with PartnersOn the job training/mentoring for junior staff on a one-to-one basis, including technical and procedural mattersDealing with staff questionsComplianceEnsuring procedures are followed taking account of institute and HMRC guidance, where relevantEnsuring department KPIs are met around billing and recovery targetsPersonal Development (Technical & Other)Reading; internal meetings; internal and external seminars and coursesAwareness/interest in what other parts of the firm can do, to encourage cross-referralsPractice DevelopmentAssist partners marketing activities/approachesQualificationsTo be successful in this role, you should have:Significant corporate tax experience gained within the profession and or industryTechnically capable tax adviser who is able to assist in complex client workDemonstrable experience of managing peopleAppetite to grow business development skillsQualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) and/or tax advisor (CTA)Additional InformationAs a colleague here at Evelyn Partners, you will have access to benefits that include:Private medical insuranceLife assurancePension contributionGenerous holiday packageOption to purchase additional holidayShared parental leaveWe are proud to value the differences that a diverse workforce brings, representative of society and our clients.
