To assist the management of day-to-day accounting services in the specific service line to ensure that the team consistently meet deadlines and provide a first class and highly professional service at all times. Helping to develop an expanding internal Centre of Excellence (CoE) for the wider Group and promoting a positive image of the firm with external clients.

Client Details

My client is a financial services organisation with these particular offices based in Whiteley and with 3 other offices in Europe and 2 in the US.

Description

To oversee resource planning for team members and to participate in accounting related projects.

To manage, supervise and develop team members, maintain and develop relationships with the team's clients.

To deputise for the Senior Manager during absence, and to support them when required in order to fulfil the team's roles and responsibilities.

Your role may include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks which we call 'Defined Business Activities'. The list of defined business activities is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time:

Operational

  • Supports the Senior Manager and Head of Jurisdiction in order to deliver a first-class professional service to clients, both internal and external
  • Deputises for the Senior Manager in their absence when relevant
  • Manage the timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reports
  • Manage the timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly and annual VAT returns
  • Manage the timely and accurate production of monthly CIS returns
  • Monitor the quality and service levels of team ensuring compliance with ISAE 3402 requirements
  • Ensure financial statements prepared are in line with UK GAAP/IFRS or other appropriate standards
  • Managing stakeholder's expectations
  • Monitoring all jobs of the client to ensure timely and efficient completion

People Management

  • Planning and organising own client portfolio and team time planning
  • Oversight of appraisals for all team members and conduct appraisals for members of the team
  • Review current workload and resources
  • Supervise team in relation to client activities and Crestbridge procedures
  • Supervise team in relation to time management and prioritisation skills

Time Management

  • Plan and prioritise own and team workflow
  • Deal with matters in a timely manner

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Understands and complies with relevant organisational policies and procedures, supporting the Senior Manager to manage risks around the accounting function
  • Understanding what is appropriate and acceptable in relation to AML

Profile

This would be an ideal move for someone look for their 1st role out of chartered accountancy.

People already within commerce and industry with a strong financial accounting background, will equally be considered.
