Job Title: Assistant Lecturer


We are working with a fantastic SEN college located in Bromley that are looking to recruit an Assistant Lecturer to join their team ASAP. They are looking for a outstanding person to join their already amazing team to support the design and delivery of personalized curricula to individuals and groups. They will assist the Lecturer in collecting evidence for assessment and recording learner progress, lead student activities, and provide cover when necessary. Additionally, they will ensure student safety and well-being, including personal and physical care tasks, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Days - Monday to Friday 

8:30am to 4:30pm 

Main Duties


  1. Collaborate with the course team to plan, prepare, deliver, and record the educational program.
  2. Provide necessary support to students for their progress, safety, and effective functioning.
  3. Lead planned student activities and provide cover for the Lecturer as required.
  4. Maintain records, prepare reports, and attend student review meetings.
  5. Participate in course team meetings, staff training, and other activities as directed.
  6. Contribute to creating a stimulating learning environment.
  7. Engage in the College’s quality assurance processes.
  8. Perform additional duties as requested by a Lecturer or Senior Manager.

Qualifications


  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Good level of general educational attainment to level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Level 2 qualifications in English, IT, and Maths.
  • An appropriate professional qualification or commitment to gain one within two years.

Knowledge


  • Understanding and commitment to College’s principles, ethos, and Christian values.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and commitment to creating a safe environment.

Experience


  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, including ASD.
  • Direct personal experience and/or knowledge of disability.
  • Evidence of paid or voluntary work with children or young people over time.

Technical/Work-based Skills


  • Proficient in MS Word, basic Excel, and College student database applications.

General Skills/Attributes


  • Commitment to inclusion.
  • Commitment to sharing responsibility for students' education and care.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
