Job Title:Assistant Headteacher (Secondary Lead)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Salary: £47,815 - £52,074 (L1-L5 )

We are currently seeking an Assistant Headteacher to join an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.
Our client have opened a brand new Primary and Secondary ASC/SEMH school last year inWolverhamptonwith a proposed capacity of 80 students aged between 5-19.
The main purpose of the role:
The Assistant Headteacher will support the headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in:
Communicating the schools vision compellingly and supporting the headteachers strategic leadership
The day-to-day management of the school
Formulating the aims and objectives of the school
Establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives
Managing staff and resources to that end
Monitoring progress towards meeting the schools aims and objectives
The Assistant Headteacher will also have a timetabled teaching commitment of up to 50% complying with the Teachers Standards and modelling best practice for others. The Assistant Headteacher will be responsible for the secondary phase of the school, encompassing curriculum, progress, attainment and qualifications with a focus on leading personal development.
Key duties:
Leadership and Management A member of the senior leadership team (SLT) required to take a shared responsibility for providing vision, strategic direction, and leadership to the school.
Teaching and Learning Lead teaching and learning to support the achievement of students, taking specific responsibility for secondary education, qualifications and personal development.
Behaviour and Attendance Lead these key areas within the school in order to support the achievement of students, taking specific responsibility for whole school monitoring and interventions that generate measurable improvements.
Safeguarding to support SLT with the safety of the students, school and staff as per school policies.
Community Promote and model excellent relationships with parents and carers.
Experience and Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher status
Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt this for pupils with SEN
Experience of working with young people with ASD
Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedure
Ability to create and maintain nurturing relationships with young people
Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, to include the students with anxiety
Knowledge of strategies and visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners important
A flexible approach and a high level creativity
Experience of managing staff and teams
