This is an exciting new opportunity to support in the management and leadership of cancer services across Kent and Medway. In summary, the division holds the responsibility for delivering timely and high quality oncological treatments to cancer patients within clinically driven parameters.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will support, or work alongside, a variety of different internal teams including Cancer Performance, Chemotherapy scheduling and delivery suites, and Radiotherapy planning and delivery.As well as supporting on the day-to-day running of cancer outpatient services and supporting the associated administrative staff.About usIn this year's NHS staff survey, our employees voted MTW in the top 10 NHS Trusts nationwide and second in the South East of Trusts to work for. The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex. The Trust's core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country. Degree or equivalent qualification or equivalent experience. Evidence of continuous professional development
ExperienceEssential
Significant managerial experience within a healthcare or similar setting, ideally in an acute setting. Evidence of innovation and achievement in management practice. Awareness and understanding of national policy concerning patient care and developments within the NHS including current developments concerning national plans. IT and computer literacy - including knowledge of Patient Management Systems and tracking system to manage patients on the waiting list. Keeps abreast of national and local developments in health, social and particularly cancer care
Desirable
Evidence of successful involvement in production of clear business cases. Understanding or experience of managing cancer standards within the waiting times guidance.
SkillsEssential
Able to manage budgets and deliver on targets. Able to support and deliver Cost Improvement programmes. Supports and encourages budget holders to understand and make efficient and effective use of financial resources. Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
Recent management experience in an acute hospital. Experience of managing projects, within constraints and on time Experience of the management of change.
