Assistant Financial Accountant

Salary: Up to �40,000 (DOE) + Benefits - Hybrid Working, Annual Bonus, Pension, On-Site Parking

Location: Deeside Area

Duration: Permanent (35.5 hours per week)

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit an Assistant Financial Accountant for a highly ambitious and market leading Manufacturing business based in the Deeside Area. The business has gone through significant growth in the last 10 years, with turnover increasing from �2m to �26m, with targets of achieving �60m Turnover by 2026. Due to this sustained organic growth an exciting opportunity has arisen within their busy finance department.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, this Assistant Financial Accountant position will play a key role in the day to day running of the business to ensure company financials are maintained to the highest quality. The role will be ever evolving and there is scope to move into different areas of finance as the business establishes subsidiaries in the US and Europe.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Financial Accountant will include:

  • Manage the Purchase and Sales Ledger
  • Ensure timely Purchase Invoice processing and query resolution
  • Take ownership of the payment run and approval process
  • Support intercompany process including invoicing and balance sheet
  • Involved in Month End/Year End close
  • Identify and encourage process improvements to increase efficiency and improve controls
  • Other Ad-hoc/project work as required

The ideal Assistant Financial Accountant will have:

  • Working towards a recognised qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), AAT Qualified or QBE
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable working with all areas of the business
  • Effective time management with experience of working in a fast-paced/changing environment
  • The ability to pick up new systems quickly (use of SAP is preferred but not essential)
  • A willingness to learn and develop as the role evolves
  • Strong Excel skills
