The FBP will work alongside Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP) within Group Partners, influencing and challenging financial plans, supporting the production of financial budgets, forecasts and analysis and acting as a critical adviser on key financial decisions.You'll be responsible for:Business PartneringWorks closely with the BUDs to help drive business performance and ensures that high quality financial decisions are made within Group Partners.Provides objective financial advice and opinions that positively impact the future of the function and associated plan.Provides objective challenge regarding spend plans and take a proactive role in looking for opportunities to deliver services more efficiently and effectively.Manages and oversees capital projects that sit within the Group Partners remit.Finance Control and AdvisorySupports BUDs with the creation, amendment, maintenance and review of financial plans, including budget and forecast, to ensure they are robust and accurately reflect key function issues.Ensures good cost control and cost management behaviour within the function.Promotes good financial disciplines and risk management processes.Works with corporate services functions to ensure that transactions adhere to group policies and statutory requirements.Reconciliates balance sheet accounts.Posts journals.Works closing with project managers to produce monthly capital projects forecasts for TSG.Works with the BUDs and the SFBP to process monthly adjustments, accruals and provisions.Manages external billings and reconciliation (sub lease and service charges to retail units)Business Relationships and PartnershipsWorks proactively with key BUDs and wider members of the function to develop successful partnering relationships.Works collaboratively with members of the finance business partner community (across the consult and construct sectors) to promote and share business partnering ideas, learnings, experiences and best practice.You'll need to have:Financial/accounting experience.Background in financial reporting, internal control requirements and strategic planning and execution.Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.Strong communication skills with the ability to present plans to support business decisions.Degree or equivalent standard of education.Demonstrable experience in delivering a finance business partner role.Demonstrable experience of working within a finance function.Adaptable and influential; able to deliver information in a digestible way to their audience, with clarity and precision.Comfortable with risk and working with ambiguity.Strong attention to quality and detail.Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships at all levels.Ability to solve problems through the manipulation and interpretation of relevant data.Excellent stakeholder management skills.You'll also have:Ability to identify, manage, and implement process improvements.Strong ability to lead change initiatives effectively.Professional accounting part qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.Demonstratable experience in Oracle Cloud.Results focused and demonstrates resilience when plans are challenged.Strong communication skills, with an ability to deliver consistent and persuasive messaging.Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
