Role Description
We are seeking a talented, full-time Assistant Fashion Designer and Studio Manager to join our small but growing team at Veronica De Piante. The Assistant Fashion Designer will collaborate closely with the Design Director and our founder, Veronica de Piante, to manage the design process from conception to final styling. This is a Woven's role, however some Knitwear knowledge is a plus. The role is located in London, United Kingdom and is an in-house position.
Responsibilities
.
Creating sketches, technical drawings, tech packs, specification sheets, line sheets.
Working closely with the Design Director on concept, color, collection and fabric boards.
.
Sourcing fabrics, trims and materials for sample development, collaborate with pattern cutters, draping and toiles.
Manage lab dips and fabric developments.
Prepare for seasonal sketch and fabric review meetings.
. Liaise daily and efficiently with Manufacturers and mills, keep a fabric, trim, materials, samples inventory, plus document and communicate all feedback from manufacturers.
Attend all fittings in London and Italy, schedule fittings, update fit and fabric revisions.
Maintain an organized studio environment.
Requirements
A minimum of 1 years experience is required.
An excellent portfolio.
Ability to sketch freehand and digitally.
Possess a solid understanding of garment construction.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent organization and admin skills.
Luxury brand experience or an understanding of the luxury market.
Exceptional work ethic, ability to multitask and work well under pressure to ensure deadlines.
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud- specifically Photoshop and Illustrator.
Qualifications
BA Fashion Design or related field
