Position Overview:
Seeking an Assistant Growing Manager to oversee the production and harvesting of field-grown crops while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for agricultural management.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate growing records, including groundwork, planting, irrigation, fertilization, and crop protection.
Provide bi-weekly crop availability forecasts to the Farm Manager, highlighting potential quality or availability issues.
Develop induction training programs for new employees and ensure staff compliance with health and safety procedures.
Ensure proper maintenance, storage, and use of all
production/harvesting
equipment and personal protective gear.
Conduct post-training assessments of staff competency and manage accident investigations and reporting.
Fulfil additional tasks as agreed upon with the Farm Manager and act in place of the Farm Manager when necessary.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in agricultural management or related field.
Full UK Driving License.
Must have PA 1/2.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Proficiency in IT applications relevant to agricultural management.
Package :
£35000 - £40000 per annum, Benefits: Company Car
