Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer with a mechanical bias to support the Manchester Airport Terminal 2 renovation project. The successful candidate will assist in the planning, design, and execution of mechanical engineering tasks, ensuring that all project activities are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This role offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience on a high-profile renovation project.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Support: Assist in the design and implementation of mechanical systems and installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.

Project Assistance: Support the project management team with planning, scheduling, and execution of mechanical engineering tasks.

Quality Assurance: Monitor and inspect mechanical works to ensure they meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications.

Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure coordinated and efficient project execution.

Problem Solving: Assist in identifying and resolving any technical issues or challenges that arise during the project.

Health and Safety: Support the enforcement of health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections and ensuring a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience

Relevant experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in large-scale building services.

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, design principles, and industry standards.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.

Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for design and analysis.
