About you:
We are on the lookout for a talented Assistant Editor with a strong editorial background and a deep knowledge of the travel and luxury industries. The role:
As the Assistant Editor, you will help manage our editorial strategy and be hands-on in creating high-quality content tailored for our luxury clients. Working closely with and reporting directly to the Editor-in-chief, you will have the opportunity to help build and manage an editorial team as the business grows.
With a strong editorial/journalistic background and keen commercial know-how, you will be instrumental in producing written content that aligns with our clients’ tone of voice and marketing requirements while also driving engagement and brand loyalty. As well as helping steer editorial strategy, you will be actively writing, commissioning and editing content across various platforms.
Key responsibilities:
Working closely with the Editor-in-chief, you will help create written content for luxury brands across a variety of platforms
Conduct research on industry trends, competitor strategies and relevant topics to inform content creation
Contribute creative ideas for a variety of clients and projects
Assist with devising tone of voice and style guides for clients
Write, review, commission and edit written content in line with brand guidelines
Assist in creating briefs informed by client TOV and marketing requirements
Work closely with designers, SEO and other team members to develop cohesive content strategies and ensure content aligns with overall campaign objectives
Assist with managing freelance contributors to ensure they produce to brief and to deadline
Proofreading and quality checks to ensure all content meets the highest editorial standards and brand requirements
Contribute to client meetings
Manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines
Assist with managing editorial budgets.
Requirements:
Minimum of six years of experience in an editorial, journalistic or agency role
Proven track record of creating and writing content to very high standards
Demonstrable ability in managing editorial projects independently
In-depth knowledge of the luxury market (particularly travel) and a passion for understanding and engaging luxury audiences
Team player, able to work equally effectively with top-tier clients and with wider marketing teams
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a relatable and engaging manner.
