Band 5 - Assistant Directorate ManagerFull time - 37.5 hours per week An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgery, Women's and Children's Division for an Assistant Directorate Manager to support Surgery. This role is integral to support the operational management of surgical services, ensure key national standards are met and support the organisational restoration of elective services. Interview date: Thursday, 23rd May 2024 Main duties of the jobTo actively assist in the management of throughput within the division, working in partnership with the Directorate Manager(s) and consultants to ensure the optimum deployment of resources to deliver contract activity as required. Provide administrative and operational support to the Directorate Manager(s) in the delivery of safe and effective clinical services within the Division.Ensuring that all targets, deadlines and objectives are delivered as appropriateContribute to the safe and effective running of the divisions inpatient and outpatient services. Coordinate the investigation and response to clinical and other complaints within appropriate timescales.Working with clinical colleagues to co-ordinate the Division's completion of Discharge Summaries within target. Oversee the Division's overall operational medical staffing resource, working with the divisional administrator, consultant and other medical colleagues to ensureappropriate levels of medical staffing are available across the division's clinical services.About usTameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust serves a community of 250,000 people across Tameside & Glossop. Benefits include flexible working, 27-33 days annual leave plus bank holidays, sick pay, NHS Pension Scheme, free eye tests and health checks, gym discount, free bicycle loan scheme, salary sacrifice car scheme, support with stress, bereavement, relationships, finance, and much more.Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesTo ensure systems are developed to monitor Divisionalperformance in relation to national and local standards such as the management of waiting lists and waiting times (18 week pathways), patient standards, Clinical Governance and the NHS PlanTo work with the Directorate Manager(s) to ensure waiting list targets and key performance indicators are achieved.To support the annual review of the departments clinical capacity, including regular assessments of current clinic templates in relation to demand.To regularly meet with Out-patient Manager and Booking Office Manager to ensure clinics are fully utilised, capacity is used appropriately and staffing and room requirements are met for any additional clinic requests.To support the Directorate Manager(s) in the management of the Medical Staffing processes.To co-ordinate specialty meetings, including the compilation and distribution of papers and minutes.To source, analyse and present information as required to support the effective management of the divisionTo undertake projects as agreed with the Directorate Manager(s)To provide information and support to the Directorate Manager(s) in service planning and performance reviewTo provide cross cover within the division as appropriate, specifically for the medical staffing coordinator and associated ADM.Person SpecificationEducational/Qualification requirementEssential

Proven planning and organisational skills within a complex environment Understanding of performance targets Experience of utilising information relating to both finance and activity Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines ( Ability to effectively organise own workload with minimum of supervision Good written and verbal skills Ability to analyse and report data Ability to use word processing spreadsheets, Internet and e-mail applications Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of personnel/staffing issues Experience and Knowledge of PAS systems (Lorenzo), clinic booking / utilisation and patient validation Knowledge of admin procedures

Previous operational management experience Knowledge of 18 week processes Previous management or supervisory experience
