Following a significant investment in the finance team and subsequent restructure, we are pleased to be supporting a visionary NHS provider in the recruitment of this key senior finance position, on a temporary or fixed term basis.

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a fast-paced environment, working with a driven and supportive team.

The Assistant Director of Finance post would suit a finance professional with a track record of leading financial management/business partnering teams within the NHS.

You will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the Business Partnering function, providing high quality financial leadership working closely alongside the operational team to support delivery of the Trust objectives, with overall responsibility for forecasting, month end and budget setting.

Key responsibilities:

* Responsible for delivery of the senior partnering function providing future focussed decision support, technical financial advice, business intelligence and reports to management

* Building effective relationships to influence and challenge performance, strategy, decision-making and outcomes

* Lead the use of financial and operational management information to review, assess and forecast unit performance

* Responsible for the monthly review of the Trust’s financial performance

* Support the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer to hold divisions and corporate directorate budget holders to account

* Corporate reporting including identification and quantification of risk

* Support with the development of internal capacity and capabilities related to business case development, financial modelling, detailed financial analysis and investment appraisal

* Support the production of business cases, including leading on and taking responsibility for the accuracy of the financial analysis

* Support negotiation of commissioning agreements

* Support the Trust in setting realistic and achievable waste reduction/efficiency targets

Candidates must be fully qualified accountants, with extensive experience in senior financial management/business partnering roles within the NHS.

They offer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement. The successful candidate will be required to work on site 2-3 days per week.
