The Assistant Director of Development supports the mission of Providence Academy through event planning and fundraising activities. This role is highly collaborative and supports the Director of Advancement in all aspects of fundraising, event planning, and donor stewardship. This position is people-centric, and would be an excellent fit for someone seeking a customer-facing role in advancing the Catholic, college-preparatory educational mission of Providence Academy. This part-time, salaried position enjoys a 12-month schedule of duties, effective June 2024.
Relationship Management
Plan and execute 10-20 Development events per year, including Grandparents Day, Gala, and other fundraising and friendraising events
Coordinate with internal and external staff, volunteers, and vendors, ensuring excellent communication and clear expectations for all, especially related to event planning
Partner with the Director of Advancement on the strategy and management of development operations, including direct solicitation of donors to support PA through the Annual Fund, Capital Campaign, Planned Giving, Gala, and other fundraising initiatives
Assist in the management of donor stewardship programs, showing gratitude and care for all supporters of Providence Academy
Inspire and equip volunteers to give of their time and talent to the Academy
Organizational Management
Assist in setting and progressing toward fundraising goals through key performance indicators (e.g. total fundraising revenue, participation, donor retention, average gift, overall engagement, etc.)
Assist with direct mail and electronic communication including design and copywriting for all Development Office projects and events
Assist in management of the Providence development database and gift processing activities, accurately recording gifts, producing qualitative and quantitative analysis or giving trends, and providing timely and meaningful written acknowledgment to donors from across constituencies
Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices in independent school donor engagement and fundraising, as well as participate in peer groups (online and in person) to identify opportunities, strategies, efficiencies and more to facilitate increased philanthropic support for Providence
