Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Editor to join the Medicine and Health team working on our Digital Hubs.
Reporting to the Senior Editor, in this role you will support content production, development and promotion on Bioanalysis Zone. As Assistant Editor you will assist with the management of our online resources on a day-to-day basis, working across a range of different editorial and client projects. You will have responsibility for ensuring the quality and consistency of the content produced and commissioned, as well as writing news, interviews and producing other multimedia content.
In this role you will deploy and develop content management, communication and editorial skills. Key responsibilities include: editing, writing, commissioning and posting of news, articles and interviews; social media and CMS management; and supporting the Senior Editor where required across projects and marketing activities.
You will also work with the entire Digital team to share best practice in content and community management, sharing ideas for development and problem-solving.

Further job details - Areas you will be working on:
Content Management, Production & Development
Demonstrate strong understanding of scope ofBioanalysis Zone, in order to commission content, manage leaders/experts, and engage the community
Support the Senior Editor in planning and delivering web content to maintain value propositions ofBioanalysis Zoneto online customers, in line with the content strategy
Effectively produce or commission content, including news, interviews, articles and multimedia features, with timely upload to the site
Where required, assist the Senior Editor in the preparation of marketing assets, including eNewsletters
Demonstrate a strong understanding of house style and quality control to ensure all content published is of the highest quality
Support the creation of new content based on feedback from customers and through co-ordination of Editorial department and alignment with department strategy
Where required, assist and lead on content generation and support on other digital hubs
Community Management & Engagement
Manage social media accounts, ensuring that posts are effective and well-written. Create engaging content and monitor shares, interactions and growth. Seek support from Senior Editor as and when necessary
Supporting the Senior Editor in the effective execution of content strategy to fit business and development priorities
Where required, alongside the Senior Editor, monitor the growth of registered users on the site, liaising with marketing on any campaigns/activities to promote engagement and improve outputs
Maintain & Cultivate effective external relationships
Support the Senior Editor in management and engagement of the Ed Board, particularly in harnessing the Board’s expertise to generate content
Assist the Senior Editor in the cultivation of strategic relationships with valuable partners in the field
Develop key contacts in the field to support with content production and product growth
Maintain internal relationships
Work closely with Senior Editor and whole team to ensure day-to-day activity aligns with overarching business goals, and short- and long-term strategy
Where appropriate, work with in-house teams to force productive relationships and drive the digital hubs towards its editorial and commercial goals
General Support
Working with the entire digital team to share best practice in community management and content production, sharing ideas for development and problem-solving
Collaborative team-working
Assist with training and support of team
What we're looking for:
Due to the nature of the role and requirements, candidates are expected to be educated to degree level in life sciences/biochemistry/chemistry
An active personal interest in sciences is highly beneficial
Relevant experience in publishing, medical communications, content production/journalismis highly beneficial
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Creativity and a genuine curiosity for the industry
Experience with problem solving, initiating debate, ensuring ideas are explored and implemented if appropriate
Experience with podcast production and editing is desirable
Excellent team-working skills
Drive for results and a self-starter
Strong independent time management and ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
Excellent organisational skill

right to work and live in the United Kingdom .
Taylor & Francis has flexible hybrid working options for how employees can work based on their role. This role will be based predominantly from home in the UK, with regular travel (approx. 1-2 days per week) to our office in North Finchley or Blackfriars (both London).
