Assistant Depot Supervisor

Our Assistant Depot Supervisors work closely with our Warehouse Supervisors, ensuring that our operation always runs smoothly and that each one of our customers receives their appliance on time, every time.A hands-on approach is required to support our self-loading depot and you will ensure that all our vehicles are road worthy, legal and compliant whilst providing on-going support to our Drivers, Quality and People teams.Hours: 5 on 3 off, 5 on 2 off shift pattern, working 1pm-10pm (40 hours per week)Job Type: Full time and permanent contractLocation: Compound 56, Greendale Business Park, Woodbury, Salterton, EX5 1EWHere's What You Can Expect To Be DoingWork alongside our warehouse team, leading by example and coaching our employed/ self-employed driversSupport the Shift Supervisor and promote a safe working environment, ensuring the team always adhere to Health and Safety proceduresTake responsibility for managing loading/ unloadingCheck that all vehicles leaving the depot are secure and meet required transport legislation requirementsMake sure deliveries are going out on time to our customersComplete in-house reports for our Depot ManagerComplete alcohol testing when requiredCommunicate with our Drivers, debriefing returning vehicles and handling any queries in a professional mannerContinually work towards reducing damage levelsA Few Things About YouUnderstand transport legislation and logistics operationAble to build good relationships with people even when under pressureChallenge any vehicle issues or damages with our DriversAble to make decisions in the absence of the Supervisor to drive performance and serviceReact quickly to information and be able to solve problems independentlyGood communication skills both verbally and writtenCompetent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel31 days holidayAt least 5% contribution pension schemeAttendance BonusExclusive Staff DiscountEnhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption PackagesExpression of wish serviceMake a difference days (x2 fully paid charity days a year)Share-save SchemeTo see all our benefits and perks, visit our AO Benefits page.
