We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Category Manager to join the Procurement Team which sits within the Financial Services Department at the University. The Procurement Team is responsible for ensuring all non-pay expenditure at the University is committed in accordance with Public Sector regulations and achieves value for money.
Working with the Senior Category Manager and a wide array of internal stakeholders, you will be involved in day-to-day procurement requirements such as preparation, publishing, evaluation, award and contract management of tenders relating principally to Professional Services and Research procurements.
You will have experience of working in a busy procurement or purchasing related setting and you will be currently working towards or willing to complete full MCIPS qualification. You will also have the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers and the ability to manage multiple on-going projects. Whilst knowledge of Public Sector Procurement is preferable, it is not a full requirement as long as transferable skills can be demonstrated.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
