Assistant Buyer - Menswear

Purpose:
To support the Buyer to ensure Liberty has the most unique, commercial and press worthy edit of product to drive sales across all channels. To be an ambassador for our brand both internally and externally and managing and developing the admin team to ensure we always have on time deliveries and a well organised functional buying office.
Key Responsibilities:
Expert in category with extensive brand and product knowledge.
Sound understanding of trends and the ability to spot emerging trends.
To build strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating the best terms for Liberty whilst growing lasting partnerships.
To build relationships with key press and influencers.
Working with retail and marketing to ensure we animate the offer with timely, compelling activity and theatre.
Working closely with press and marketing to ensure appropriate coverage of strategic brands and products.
Working closely with VM and retail to ensure brand adjacencies are commercially sound.
Assist the Buyer and Merchandising team in planning ranges, making recommendations for improvement and changes to brand mix.
the buyer in allocating OTB spend each season and then make recommendations to optimise sales through in season trading.
Support with key internal and external business stakeholders including concessions.
Attend floor walks and liaise with Retail and Merchandising to challenge and drive performance from a best-seller and zero-seller perspective.
Demonstrate a commercial mind set and outlook to stay responsive to customer and business needs.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of performance in product area, understanding the key product characteristics that are influencing sales.
Conducting detailed ad-hoc analysis when required.
Delivering a centre of excellence for buying best practice, processes and system use.
Manage, train and develop Buying Assistant, working with them to ensure their KPIs and objectives are met.
To oversee scheduling and travel, keeping bookings within budget.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years previous Buying experience in a fast paced luxury retailer
Experience or strong interest in Menswear
